Cleaning quote template

A quote template should protect your margin.

A polished document is not enough. Build the price from the work, include the costs that usually disappear, and know the profit before you send the quote.

The number behind the quote

One formula keeps the goal honest.

When your target is a margin on the selling price, divide true job cost by one minus the target margin. Do not simply add the margin percentage to cost.

What a useful quote includes

Clear for the client.
Useful for the business.

01

A defined scope

Property, service type, included tasks, exclusions, frequency and any assumptions that affect the work.

02

A cost-based price

Expected labor, employer costs, supplies, travel and a fair share of overhead—not a number copied from a competitor.

03

Commercial terms

Price, payment timing, validity period, rescheduling terms and what happens if the scope changes.

04

A clear next step

One simple acceptance action so the client knows exactly how to approve, ask a question or book the work.

Practical answers

Before you send the quote.

What should a cleaning quote template include?

Include the client and property, a defined service scope, assumptions and exclusions, the price, payment and scheduling terms, validity period and a clear acceptance step. Internally, support that price with labor, job costs, overhead and margin calculations.

Is a cleaning estimate the same as a quote?

An estimate is generally an approximate price based on the information available. A quote is normally presented as a specific price for a clearly defined scope. Terminology and legal effect can vary, so use wording appropriate to your location and terms.

Can I use the workbook in Google Sheets?

The Profit Engine is delivered as an Excel workbook and uses formulas compatible with Google Sheets. Some visual formatting can vary after import, so review the converted file before relying on it.

Does the calculator choose local market rates for me?

No. It intentionally uses the wage, team speed, costs, overhead and margin you enter. Market research can inform your final decision, but it cannot replace your own cost floor.
